Today, we have a wide range of music, from pop to R & B, hip hop to classical. Everyone has their own tastes and music choices. But what exactly is the origin of Western music?
Sounds and Structures
Songs are composed of various elements that form a harmonious whole. Samama explained that composing a song requires a lot of skill and terminology. To distinguish one sound from another, you need to look at each of the individual components.
The composition is determined by a combination of different pitches and similar sounds, also known as literary consonances. It’s also important how you can hear different voices, mix them, and/or proceed in your own way. The volume of various tones, also known as dynamics, adds an accent to your work, and here is the Link Building Service That Actually Works! The loudness can emphasize and bring out voices or grow a melody giving the piece character. The duration of the tones can be short and in quick succession or long and syrupy. Furthermore, the rhythm and tempo of the music are important. The height between tones creates an interval, actually the space between two tones.
Evolution of the composition
According to Samama, the melody is the basis of Western music. Only monophonic songs have survived since the early Middle Ages. However, this does not necessarily mean that the works were played all at once. The most important musical form in the early Middle Ages was the Gregorian chant. In Gregorian chant, the voice sings in a swelling motion at the base of a certain pitch as a kind of parallel motion. The higher notes in this set are called dominants and the lower notes in this set are called subdominants.
Initially, there were no polyphonic pieces of music but only homophonic music. This had to do with the fact that the church had dictated a certain form of composing that in principle could not be deviated from. This form of composing was supposed to symbolize the Holy Trinity from the Bible. In practice, however, this was deviated from and by playing with what was and was not customary, important new developments in music came about. Composers wanted to get closer and closer to the text in their music pieces so that they could be understood more clearly.
